We would like to thank JoomlatWork for their ongoing support of our websites by making several donations to us. They are helping our websites to be their best for Search Engine Optimization. We are thankful for their donation of several copies of SEF Patch and SEF Patch Extended Version for both Joomla! 1.0.x and 1.5.x versions. This is truly one of the best options to have on your Joomla! based website to make it SEO and user friendly. A benefit is that some of the components that they have to offer are free and then have a paid extended version.
We really like the various options that these patches add to sites that are using the JoomSEF component. If you just use JoomSEF only, you do not have a way to control your META Tags or the titles of the pages as you would be able to do with a normal HTML based webpage. With the Patches, you get the extended options that allows you to add Description Meta Tag, Keyword Meta Tag, you can define a title of the page that is also displayed in the HTML of the page output. You are also given extended options on what Google can do with images, cache settings and snippets, allowing you to control Googles search of your site.
Every wanted to added additional META tags but was not sure how. Well with the SEF Patch's, you are able to include upto 5 additional META tags right off the bat on a site wide basis. You can include say a Copyright Meta Tag, a Google Verify Meta Tag, or just about anything else you might want to include in the meta section of your pages. This can also be great to list author names and related information. When you create a custom META field, it will also show up on the Meta Info page for all pages that you create. This gives you the ability to change the site wide default for that specfic page if needed, such as a guest author for that page or a different copyright based on the content.
The SEF Patch system also gives you the ability to format how the site and page title are displayed. You can make the page title show up before the site title on your guest's web browser. For example, you can display the title like this, Page Name - Site Name, Site Name - Page Name, Page Name - Category Name - Section Name - Site Name, or any varition there of. You can set the default site name that will be shown if no title is available. You can also set other META options to be include site wide if the information is not provided on the page or not to be displayed at all.
If you are running a Joomla! based website, this is a component that you really do need to get. Joomlatwork also has other components that can help any Joomla! site, including, PrettyPDF and Joomla Performance Booster. Check out these items on their website, we feel that you will be extremely happy with what they have to offer.
